Short Description

A Certified Roof Erector (Cert. RE) is a practicing professional who will traditionally come from the trades’ profession as qualified carpenters. The erection and bracing of timber roof trusses is a specialized field and require special training, firstly to understand the concept of rational design and then to apply the design in accordance with industry prescriptions.

The roof erection function is to encompass all types of structural members supplied by the Truss Fabricator and includes not only trusses, but any beams, all necessary bracing, rafters or joists and their connections including hangers, brackets and cleats.

Most roof failure can be attributed to erection problems. The ITC creates a regulated environment where the training and competence of Roof Erectors is confirmed, protecting the consumer.

A Certified Roof Erector (Cert. RE) can be registered in this designation, but may only erect roof within the specified category, as per below and depending on his proven competencies:
