Persons applying for this category of registration must already be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist in the Civil Engineering discipline.
The applicant will also be required to provide proof of Professional Indemnity Insurance recognising cover for structural design in timber structures.
Applicants must either have extensive experience in timber roof truss experience design and inspection, or attend the ITC-SA Roof Inspection Workshop and successfully inspect at least three Category A roofs under the mentorship of an ATE who has been registered with the IT-SA for at least three years.
