Overview
The ITC-SA Roof Certificates App facilitates the process for the online generation of ITC-SA A19 Roof Certificates along with Form 3 and Form 4 as required by SANS.
It is intended for use by ITC-SA members to simplify, centralise and streamline the roof certification process for all role players involved and make each relevant section accessible to the role players via an online app.
Who can use the app
ITC-SA Certified Roof Inspectors and Engineers can initiate projects and have access to all information relating to a project.
Fabricators can only access relevant project details once they have been sent a request by the project owner. They will only be able to view basic relevant project details and sign their undertaking for a project.
Accessing the App
The app can be accessed on a laptop, tablet or mobile device via the following URL:
ITC-SA members can login with their ITC-SA member login details.
Non member fabricators can access a project via a direct link included in their signature request, or can sign in via the “signatures tab” with a Project ID and passcode.
How the App works
- An ITC-SA Certified Roof Inspector initiates a “roof certificate” project on the app.
- The inspector adds all relevant details for the project and links a roof erector, truss fabricator, truss designer and timber engineer to the project.
- The inspector initiates email requests via the system to the fabricator to sign their undertaking for the project.
- Fabricators only have access to the system to sign their undertaking for a specific linked project on request by the “project owner”. The fabricators linked to projects do not need to be ITC-SA members to complete their role.
- The inspector completes the onsite inspection online. This includes the location, structural checklist and photos, signs off their part and generates a request to the engineer to review the project details.
- The engineer reviews the project, and may return it to the roof inspector for amendments, or, if all is in order, the engineer adds any additional information required for the completion of Form 3 & 4 and publishes the project.
- Once published, the project roof inspector and engineer have access to the Engineers Certificate, Form 3 and Form 4, which they can share with relevant parties.
- The project can also be made “public” which will make it searchable on a very basic level on the ITC-SA website for verification/authentication purposes only. The public will not have access to any project details, other than the address and certificate number.
