The Institute for Timber Construction South Africa (ITC-SA), SAQA-accredited professional body for the engineered timber construction trade, is pleased to welcome Ernest Prinsloo on board as its Western Cape Regional Representative, starting 12 March 2018.

Ernest brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, having started his career in the carpentry trade in 1969 and being promoted to trade foreman/site agent at Julius Cohen (Pty) Ltd. in Observatory, Cape Town, in 1978, a position he held for the next 15 years.

In 1993, Ernest joined the Cape Town City Council as a building inspector and moved on to become a project inspector for the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) in 2006, where he was promoted to quality assessor a year later. After more than 10 years working for the NHBRC, Ernest took a position as a site manager for AM Projects & Construction, Cape Town.

Ernest holds a National Diploma in Building Survey from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and has undertaken further training in computer literacy.

The ITC-SA looks forward to Ernest’s tenure as Western Cape Regional Representative and wishes him a long and happy stay with the Institute.
