The Institute for Timber Construction South Africa (ITC-SA), SAQA-accredited professional body for the timber construction sector in South Africa, will be hosting a conference on the 16th of August at Interbuild Africa, which is set to take place from 15 to 18 August at Expo Centre Nasrec in Johannesburg.

As part of its mission to create and maintain standards in the timber construction industry, the ITC-SA is committed taking every opportunity to host information-sharing events like workshops, training sessions and presentations, which help to inform both the industry and the public.

The ITC-SA’s conference at Interbuild Africa will be host to Werner Slabbert Jnr, who will be presenting on Timber Frame Building, Abe Stears of South African Technical Auditing Services (SATAS), who will present on Grading of Timber, Bruce Breedt of the South African Wood Preservers Association (SAWPA), who will talk about Timber Treatment, and Willie Conradie, who will talk on the subject of Surface Coatings.

According to Amanda Obbes, ITC-SA General Manager, “We are delighted to be hosting these technical speakers at our very own ‘mini-conference’ taking place at Interbuild Africa and look forward to sharing insights and information about timber as a construction material.”
