The Institute for Timber Construction South Africa‘s (ITC-SA) Chairman, Mannie Piyackis, has announced that the Institute’s National Coordinator, Amanda Obbes has been appointed as General Manager as of March 2018.

At the Board of Directors meeting held on the 20th of March 2018, it was resolved that Ms Obbes fulfill the role of General Manager and it was agreed by the Board thus to change her title to General Manager.

Responsible for the day-to-day running of the ITC-SA, management of six staff members, identification and planning of projects as well as visiting members in various regions, Obbes reports directly to the Board of Directors of the ITC-SA.

“I enjoy what I do, which is to interact on various levels in the sector, out in the field as well as in the board room. It brings me a great deal of satisfaction to know that our professional membership produces a quality product that ensures public safety and value for money. I further enjoy working with a great team that share the same passion for the industry,” she says.

In the Institute’s employ since 1999, Obbes was appointed as National Coordinator in 2017 and as of March 2018 carries the title of General Manager.
