The Institute for Timber Construction is the industry co-ordinating body for, predominantly, the prefabricated timber roof truss industry in Southern Africa.  The institute is looking for a suitably qualified energetic Admin Assistant for the Johannesburg (Isando) office.

To provide administrative support to the General Manager

PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION

Diploma in business or marketing

PREFERRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years work experience in an administrative capacity
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience and knowledge of the use of Social media platforms for business purposes
  • Experience and knowledge of basic bookkeeping functions
  • Experience in the timber and construction sector will be an added advantage

 JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Preparing all transactions for the accountants on a monthly basis – payment vouchers, invoicing and bank account reconciliation
  • Update members contact details on database
  • Liaise with Social media agency and monitor the ITC – SA social media profile
  • Distribute all correspondence including meeting agenda and minutes to members
  • Answer telephone
  • Assist with general enquiries
  • Receive and communicate audit results to members
  • Filling
  • Purchase stationery
  • Receive membership applications and process
  • Issue Member Certificates
  • Arrange EXCO, Board, AGM and TEAC/SIAC meetings
  • Catering (order lunch for meetings when necessary)
  • Prepare meeting packs for EXCO, Board, AGM and Technical Committee meetings
  • Receive and process course enrolments
  • Distribute course material
  • Drop/collect assignments at examiner for marking
  • Arrange exam venues and invigilators
  • Communicate course venues to students
  • Communicate course results to students
  • Co-ordinate member audits (when required)
  • Collect & drop Board Members at the Airport
  • Arrange meetings for General Manager
