The Institute for Timber Construction South Africa (ITC-SA) congratulates Nicky (Nandgopaul) Naidu on his appointment to the position of Regional Coordinator for KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

Nicky has extensive industry experience in the built environment and is well acquainted with being a Regional Coordinator. He held the position for two years in 2017 – 2019.

Nicky entered the construction industry while working for the Natal Building Society as a Project Coordinator. He gained valuable experience in construction quality control from the foundations to the roof. He was later responsible for the valuation and building quality control in KZN for a national bank’s home loans department.

Nicky’s next career move saw him work for the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC). He managed the Outsource Inspectorate and liaised with local authorities, banks and consumers to help them understand the role of the NHBRC. He retired from the NHBRC in 2015.

“I am looking forward to working with Erik Söderlund, the new General Manager of the ITC-SA,” Nicky says. “The timber roof truss industry faces many challenges, including the economy and the uncertainties caused by Covid-19.”
